ADHD is often judged by what others see: Impulsivity. Distraction. Talking too much. Big emotions. Restlessness.
But here’s what’s really happening and what we should be seeing instead:
Impulsivity → Creative problem-solving
Daydreaming → Imagination & creativity
Sensitivity → Compassion
Talking a lot → Sense of humor & connection
“Giving up” → Perseverance after setbacks
Noticing everything → Keen observation & strong memory
Doing many things at once → Multitasking
Hyperfocus → Laser-focus on what matters
Can’t sit still → Endless energy & zeal for life
Being different → Acceptance of others
Strong reactions → A powerful moral compass
ADHD doesn’t need to be “fixed.” It needs to be understood, supported, and celebrated.
When we change how we see our children, we change how they see themselves.
